If your kitchen is in need of a facelift, a fresh coat of colour can make all the difference. Certainly painting the walls can bring new life to the space but painting your cabinets will be the most impressive change you can make without the expense of a full remodel.

>> Grey There is nothing like the right shade of grey to bring simplicity and sophistication to any space. Grey is a complex yet versatile shade that coordinates well with other colours. Go ahead and splurge on that bright, trendy kitchen appliance!
>> Blue The colour of sea and sky, blue is timeless and diverse, popping up in traditional, industrial and modern styled kitchens alike.
>> Green Mother Nature’s favourite neutral, green is the perfect hue to add a fresh touch to old cabinets or any piece of furniture.
>> White Sometimes white is just right! The contrast of a crisp white against a deep or bold colour adds a graphic element, perfect to bring a modern spin to a traditional or rustic space.
Tips for painting cabinets:
Contractors are able to spray or paint kitchen cabinets and cabinet doors, but if you want to take on the project yourself, here are some tips:
- After cleaning, sand the cabinets lightly with 100-grit sandpaper to cut the sheen of any previous products and then wipe clean with a tack cloth to remove dust.
-
Prime with Benjamin Moore’s Fresh Start Primer for better adhesion.
- Allow to dry, then paint at least two coats of finishing paint.
- Benjamin Moore’s Advance Paint in a high gloss provides a slick, modern look or try the Pearl finish for a soft sheen.
