A musical family from Barrie discovered that their talents and lifestyle required a specialized approach to finding a new home. After spending several months searching for a space that works for their family, the homeowners came up empty handed. They quickly realized a custom home on a three-quarter acre forested lot in Barrie’s north side was what they needed, and they contacted custom home builders in Barrie to help with the project.
Working with Mark Taylor from Cornerstones Residential Design Inc. to design their home, Michael Christensen made the homeowner’s shortlist for custom home builders in Barrie, contracting the company to develop their ideas into blueprints. The family built a 4,000 sq. ft. open-concept custom home fitted with a music room, large kitchen and the backyard landscaping design includes a pool and spa area.
The swimming pool and spa open early every spring, which allows the family to take advantage of an early backyard season. The backyard landscaping design offers up a great entertainment space with a covered porch and view of the pool.
Often offering their musical talents to the community church, the family needed a music room to practice and play in. Located off the main entrance, the music room accommodates a grand piano and several guitars. The family plans to expand the 2,700 sq. ft. basement into an area that can house a full band and a space for indoor entertaining and socializing. Loving how their home turned out, the homeowners now call this their forever home.
