The unique layout of this property’s existing cottage served as inspiration to transform this private waterfront property. Builder Alair Homes Georgian Bay couldn’t be happier with the final product.

The building’s original structure was expanded upon and a bedroom was removed to make a larger dining room and master bathroom. Their quick beach-access pantry is complete with a wine cooler and storage, and a small breakfast nook for two. The lower-level bedrooms are spacious with high windows and floor-to-ceiling window coverings by Blair Interiors & Window Fashions.

The homeowner designed the rustic coffee table in the upper level great room, and had it built by Perkinsfield Rustic Furniture. The flooring in the laundry room is porcelain, a product sold only in the United States. Alair’s project manager went out of his way to have the flooring shipped to a relative near the border.

A rustic cottage scent can be enjoyed throughout the cottage from the wooden walls that will darken over time. An art studio for the homeowner is housed outside in a mini version of the main cottage. The exterior of both buildings are painted Benjamin Moore's Newburyport Blue and is paired with red and white accents, creating a fresh, nautical look.
