A family looking for a larger space opted to customize their new home, giving them the chance to make it personal and avoid changes post-construction. The result of this endeavour is one luxurious and welcoming home, complete with the perfect union of cool tones and warm accents.
Stepping through the heavy wooden door, a spacious entry greets the homeowners. Into the hallway, polished white tiles that sparkle throughout the main floor are paired with white walls, giving the furnishings and accessories centre stage.
The second floor is home to a games room, secondary bedrooms and a spacious laundry room, and can be reached by way of the curved, grey driftwood-finished staircase. The master bedroom features a marble surround fireplace and cool blue tones together with white orbs, creating a calm and cosy feeling. Windows from the en suite look out onto the private woodlands, which the family shares with the other 20 homes included in Hillsview Building Corporation’s project.
This custom build is truly personalized, the family spent time designing the perfect kitchen to meet their needs, which can only be described as a “culinary dream.” Owner of Liberty Custom Cabinetry,John Maiuri worked alongside the homeowners to incorporate their likes and dislikes into the flow and function of the room. An espresso-stained solid maple island tastefully contrasts with the classic grey cabinetry, and a built-in coffee centre is a house favourite.
A success story for the daunting idea of blank slate, using white as their backdrop, this family crafted a house with thoughtful design and personalized features, and turned it into a home.
