On the calming shoreline of Miramichi Bay on Lake Huron, builder Bryan Snyder of Snyder Development crafted a home for his own family that not only showcases in-demand concepts, but the latest in design and style.
The 3,010 sq. ft. home carries his trademark features: a covered deck, high ceilings and a maintenance-free, man-made stone exterior, which pulls grey tones from the charcoal roof and windows (Georgian Bay Window and Door).
Bryan says that although open concept is on trend and the “most popular way to go,” he opted for a semi open-concept design by choice. The vaulted ceilings provide an expansive, open feeling while interior columns provide structure and definition to the space.
The living room’s 12-foot ceiling and 16-foot peak reveals a window wall overlooking a forest out back. The semi open-concept-style kitchen is tucked off to the side, showcasing high cabinets (Keller Kitchens Ltd.) that are accented with top-to-bottom lighting. Granite counters on the kitchen table and island match the custom stain of the hardwood flooring throughout the home (South Bruce Flooring).
Off the kitchen, the covered patio deck features a sound system, pot lights, ceiling fan and a hot tub from Water & Wellness. The deck overlooks the backyard landscape and fire-pit (Backyard Boys Landscape Construction Inc.). Plants and trees are from Everest Nurseries.
Back inside, the principal bedroom and en suite are located on the west side and offer a grand view of the forest. The lower level is where the fun happens. There’s a walk-out to the yard, a pool table from Double D Company and room for a theatre; plus an office, bedroom and bathroom, all with in-floor heating by Sprung Heating, Sheet Metal & Pump Service. The large sofa provides a comfortable retreat to watch TV or cosy up by the fireplace (Matt’s Masonry & Carson Supply), which features the same stone as the home’s exterior.
It’s another impressive home, built for and by Bryan.
